Children’s Ministry Director & Administrative Assistant
Part-Time Position | 20–30 Hours per Week | Paid
Position Summary
The Children’s Ministry Director & Administrative Assistant is a dual-role position designed to strengthen the ministry and administration of our church. This individual will oversee children’s programming (ages 4 years through 6th grade), provide leadership and support for volunteers, and assist the Pastor with essential administrative and facility needs.
Responsibilities
Children’s Ministry

Lead and oversee all children’s programs (ages 4–6th grade).

Teach the 11:00 AM service and Wednesday evening service, unless covered by recruited/assigned teachers.

Recruit, train, and encourage children’s ministry volunteers.

Select, prepare, and distribute curriculum and teaching resources.

Communicate regularly with parents and volunteers.

Plan and organize special children’s events (e.g., VBS, Easter, Christmas).

Ensure a safe, welcoming, and spiritually nurturing environment for children.

Ensure all volunteers who work with kids pass a background check.
Administrative Support

Promote church events and services through social media.

Prepare all kids’ materials needed for Sunday and midweek services.

Coordinate and prepare the facility for services, baptisms, and other events (including filling baptistry, arranging pews/Bibles/hymnals).

Oversee monthly building cleaning and maintain facility tidiness throughout the week.

Run errands as needed for the Pastor.

Utilize Planning Center, ProPresenter, and Canva for scheduling, presentations, and communications.
Qualifications
-
Demonstrated faithfulness and proven service record in ministry.

Prior church service or children’s ministry experience preferred.

Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

Ability to work under the direction of the Pastor with humility and flexibility.

Agreement with church bylaws and statement of faith.

Commitment to use the King James Version for all lessons.

Must demonstrate kindness, patience, and a spirit of encouragement toward all members.

Must pass full background check
Schedule & Hours
• Fixed weekly schedule to be determined upon hiring.
• Required attendance: all Sunday services and Wednesday night services.
• Additional preparation hours during the week (20–30 hours total).
Accountability
• Reports directly to Pastor Anthony. Will also be accountable to deacons and trustees.
• Expected to uphold confidentiality and avoid gossip
Compensation
• Part-time hourly compensation (to be determined).
• No benefits unless otherwise specified at hire.
